We change the clutch slave on every car we prep. It is one of the few common failure points on a Miata that’s driven hard for the first time after a long life of mild street use.
To inspect yours, pull the dust boot back. If there is any rust or corrosion in there replace it. If the car is more than about 8 years old with unknown history, replace it.
